Intermediate·Lesson 3 of 6
Composition for florals
Framing your arrangements perfectly

Light makes a photo possible. Composition makes it sing. A few simple framing habits will instantly lift your work.
What you’ll learn
- —Turning on your camera’s grid (iPhone & Android)
- —Using the rule of thirds to balance your arrangements
- —Finding the most flattering angle for your particular vase shape
Practice exercises
- 01
Activate your camera grid. Photograph your arrangement so the main focal flower rests exactly where two grid lines intersect.
- 02
Shoot the same arrangement from three heights — table-level, 45°, and straight overhead. Pick the one that best shows the vase silhouette.
